The school on Plaça del Poeta Boscà
Plaça del Poeta Boscà · La Barceloneta · since 2009

Learn Spanish. And a little Catalan, because you're here.

A small summer school two streets from the sea. Groups of four to eight, native teachers, new courses every Monday — and a market, a beach and a vermouth bar all within three minutes' walk.

4–8 students per class/ Start any Monday, June–September/ From €85 a week/ Cultural activity included every Friday

Three ways to spend your mornings

Pick the one that fits how long you're staying. You can switch track at the end of any week — most people do.

A day here, roughly

  1. 09:30Class. Talking, mostly. Grammar arrives when you need it, not before.
  2. 11:15Coffee in the plaça with whoever's around. This counts as homework.
  3. 13:30Out. Market, beach, nap — the afternoon is yours.
  4. 19:00Conversation club, if you want it. Two euros, one drink, no textbooks.

The people at the front of the room

Six of us, all native speakers, all living within twenty minutes of the plaça. Between us: Spanish, Catalan, English, French, Italian, Portuguese and a lot of patience.

The barri is the second classroom

One activity every week is included in your course. The rest are optional, cheap, and usually end at the beach.

Everything within four minutes

We don't take a commission on any of these. Tell us your budget when you book and we'll make the introduction — usually the same day.

A word about August

Barceloneta fills up. Host families and the good hostels go three to four weeks ahead in August, so if you know your dates, tell us early — even before you pay for the course.

Student stories

Written by people who came for a week and stayed longer than planned.
